HISTORIAN OF LAKEVIEW CEMETERY & EXPERT ON ORGANIZED CRIME IN CLEVELAND
PRESENTER: Allan R. May
LOCATION: Parma South Branch of the Cuyahoga County Public Library, 7335 Ridge Road, Parma, OH 44129
At Lake View Cemetery, Allan May is the historian and on the speaker’s bureau. Working through a grant funded by The Cleveland Foundation he wrote the “Who’s Who of Lake View Cemetery” which includes biographies on over 450 noted personalities buried there. He wrote a monthly historical column for the Cleveland Plain Dealer Sunday Magazine called “Legends of Lake View.”
Allan May is also an authority on the history of organized crime in the United States and has a personal library of over 750 books on the subject. He was the main organized crime writer for Court TV?’s website Crime Library?.com. He has taught several courses on organized crime at Cuyahoga Community College and lectures at libraries throughout Northeast Ohio. He has two books published.
